The speech will analyse what are the imminent challenges Higher Education Institutions will have to face in the very next future, and if there is something different we could require and/or expect from the leadership practices at the institutions. From the Digital Education Leadership Literacies for Higher Education (DELLHE) Framework, we could analyse a literacies approach to put aside outdated notions of heroic and charismatic leadership styles, and concentrate rather on leadership mindsets and actions, from both an individual and a collective perspective. When bringing Digital Education into the picture, we are thus interested in how those involved in the practice of Digital Education Leadership understand the digital world and how it impacts on higher education and society at large, how such leaders frame the purpose of higher education in the 21 st century, and how these people communicate that vision to others through strategy and concrete actions.
